ANY NUMBER CAN DIE
2001
For this production, the props required two guns, and at least one of them had to fire blanks for two different scenes. Our budget, being what it was, prevented us from buying two guns. So we had the one, that didn't make any sound when you pulled the trigger ("click"). and one that went "BLAM" when you pulled the trigger. Lew blocked it so when we needed the one "BLAM" gun for one character, that during scene changes that character would give it to Dave, who was playing Hannibal Hix, so that for the next scene Dave could use the gun that went "BLAM" for when he pretends to kill himself.

Please bear in mind that Dave had three weeks (less, really) to learn this lead role. So on one evening, he realizes that he is approaching the scene where he pretends to kill himself, using the "BLAM" gun, but has failed to acquire it from the character who last used it, and only has the "click" gun in his pocket. That actor, Bob Costino, was backstage trying to imagine how he was going to get the "BLAM" gun to Dave. Dave finally just made up an excuse to leave the stage, leaving the actress he was talking with onstage (Jill Sellers) mildly perplexed. She continued on anyway and when he returned he had the appropriate gun. He went on to pretend to kill himself with the gun that went "BLAM" instead of the gun that went "click"

The Spare Parts Theatre Company relies heavily on the friends, volunteers and patrons in the surrounding community who support our efforts in many ways. As our way of saying thanks, we'd like to list them here. Each time you stop back, the list will probably be longer. Take a moment to review the information about the folks who help us with our endeavors, you may be surprised at the variety of talents required to produce a Spare Parts performance!

A big thank you to Firebird Hosting for the complimentary hosting of our web site for all these years. BG, you're the BEST!

Monseigneur Clarke from St. Peter and Paul, Turnersville
For arranging our FREE ticket printing with Constitution Printing in Woodbury. Stick with us, we have friends in high places!

Sir Speedy in Maple Shade
Ok, ok, so it's no where near Pitman or Mantua, but it's near to where Leslie works and since she does the programs and posters, we let her decide where to go. But you should visit the fine folks at Sir Speedy if you ever need fast, efficient and inexpensive printing done. They are the best! Most of all, they put up with Leslie, and we're grateful for that.

Mantua Volunteer Fire Department
Support your local fire department! Or call Frieda for hall rentals at 856-468-2335. Thanks to all our friends at the Mantua Volunteer Fire Department for sharing their great space with us for the production of "Fractured Valentine". We really appreciate their support!

Pitman VFW Post 6469
Naturally anyone coming to see one of our productions will go to The Broadway Theater. But before that day arrives, there are weeks of rehearsal and preparation required to make a show a success. Our wonderful friends at the VFW have offered us the use of their spacious hall for our rehearsals, affording us the space that enables us to rehearse and rehearse and rehearse...'till we get it right! We can't thank them enough!

Will Mendez, Horizon Sound Studio
Sound Engineer

Every show we do seems to require a special sound cue. Our friends at Horizon Sound Studio have been very generous with their time and talent when helping us to get just the sound we want. For those of you who saw "Any Number Can Die", you'll recall the thunder claps, rolls of thunder and the constant sound of rain which were imperative to the success of the show. That's just one example of what Will Mendez provides for us.

Harold Ware
Mr. Ware has graced each of our performances at The Broadway Theater in Pitman with organ music, played on the 76 year-old pipe organ found there, under restoration by the efforts of the South Jersey Theatre Organ Society.

Professional Printing Services, Inc.
We'd all like to thank Joe and Carrie for providing us with beautifully printed flyers and programs for so many of our shows. We've been taking our work to PPS, Inc. since the beginning. They're always friendly and helpful and can make any deadline, no matter how impossible! Take a look at what Professional Printing can do for you!
